Managing (Only Just)

Brandon sitting in his high chair, playing with Lego farm animalsToday I actually broke down, bawling into a bolster while curled up in a foetal position in bed. I was trying to nap in the afternoon but with Andrea waking up so often it was nearly impossible. I guess exhaustion got the better of me.

Han's working on two freelance jobs at the moment. It's going to be great for our finances, but make no mistake--the effort to concentrate and to get a solid block of quality work time at home is HARD. Despite the long late hours he's still keeping his cool... How does he do it?

As a parent, with every passing day I grow more convinced that having a good sense of humour about you is essential for your survival. And your child's. Because if you're anything like me, it's easy to let anger overthrow your rational thoughts when your defenses are down--when it's been days since you've had more than 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep, when both babies are crying for attention at the same time, when the servant makes a minor mistake, when it seems like your spouse is neglecting your personal needs.

I can also tell you that taking out your frustrations on a pillow works just as well as punching the wall--just do it for twice as long for the same level of relief, because you'll be missing out on the physical pain which jolts you back to reality a lot quicker.

But no matter how tormented you imagine yourself being, everything magically becomes okay when you're face to face with something as disarmingly cute as this.

i guess its one of those moments where everything seems be crashing down on you. Hang in there babe… You’ve got lots of good things going for you. If you ever need to talk, you know how to contact me 🙂

(Brandon’s looking more like you in this pic. And Andrea is just too adorable… I wanna pinch those cheeks!)

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. Things are much more under control, now that I’ve caught up on some sleep. :”>
