You know what I miss?
I miss waking up before dawn where I know that outside, the air is of teeth-chattering frigidity. When I peep out the window, I see the fine claw-like branches of a tree that has shed most of its leaves to herald the winter. The street below is without traffic, and occasionally the muffled sound of booted footfalls drifts into my warm rat's nest of a room.
I miss wrapping myself up in a bathrobe before going downstairs to make a cup of Milo to ease the cold on the tips of my fingers.
I miss sitting in the kitchen, casting my gaze out into the wildly overgrown garden and waiting for the sun to spread its golden glow across the sky from the ragged line of nearby rooftops.
I miss having the time to sit back and savour the simple things.

sigh.. memories….
Michelle, while there’s nothing that really can be done about the teeth chattering figidity beyond tinkering with the air-con, I can certainly help with the waking up before dawn bit.
Tell you what, I’ll give you a call tomorrow when I get to work. You will have at least 1 hour to savour before the light of dawn is visible in our slightly hazy skies.
Andy: I’m setting my phone to silent!! :p There were two primary reasons how I could wake up at that hour. The first is that I slept like a pig for 8 hours straight the night before, and the next is that I may not have slept at all!
Lincoln: I’ve forgotten our house address. I wonder if the Sabahan family is still living next door–have you kept in touch with them?

I can probably track down their email somewhere. Remind me when I am online
