Makeover For Children’s Room Door
Tuesday, 28 February 2012
We turned the kids' room door from looking like this:
To this:
I did it yesterday while waiting for my experimental siew yok to be done for dinner (which didn't turn out perfectly). Not bad for under an hour's work, eh?
Notice the matching curtains in the background. 😉 The fabric is called "Frederika" from IKEA (surprise surprise), going for RM19.90/m (I bought 4m to cover both sides of the door). The kids LOVE their pimped out door and I'm glad I finally got round to doing it up. The hallway has always been very bare all these years and this riot of colours is just what it needed for a fresh look.
I followed this tutorial on How About Orange to get the job done. All things considered, it was a pretty easy and straightforward DIY home decorating exercise, I think anyone can give it a go and be happy with the results. Now all that's left is to finish off the other side of the door, and to find a good way to tidy up the edges of the fabric.
