Reservoirs

There are times when you feel like you're at the end of your tether; when one innocent request from a child sends you screaming down the hall at noone in particular, because you really, really would like to have some privacy and time to yourself to get something done. Or to just be alone for a little while.

Yet if we were to pause, inhale deeply and be still for a moment, then consciously tell ourselves to dig deep for a more favourable response to that kind of situation when our souls and minds feel like they're in tatters, chances are we'll find ourselves behaving in a much more controlled, better way.

I have a few questions about this.

When we search within ourselves for that 'better person', are we in fact turning to our own, human abilities? Or are we looking to god? Or, are we giving credit to god for already instilling in us that better person, but over time we have forgotten how to allow him or her to manifest?
