In Sickness And In Health

Tuesday, 15 January 2008

Neither of us remember being this sick for this long. Sneezing, runny noses, blocked noses, going deaf, fevers, headaches, body aches, chest-wracking coughs--for close to three blinking weeks. Even Brandon caught something and had a night of prolonged high fever. He's fine now, just has a bit of a cough on and off. Han also battled with a high fever for two days.

Being sick the same time as your spouse sucks, because you can't expect him to manja you wholeheartedly. But when we do make the effort to care for one another, it seems a whole lot more meaningful because you know that the other person is putting aside his own discomforts in order to tend to your needs. (I feel so selfish... :">)

Tomorrow I go back to work after taking two days off to rest. Brandon spent the last two nights at my in-laws' so that Han and I could get some proper rest (and hopefully not pass our nasty bugs to him again)--it's nice to have him back home tonight. Apart from catching up with work I have to also claw back the 1.5kg that I lost to the flu.

Every bout of sickness is a reminder to not take good health for granted.
