Just Get Up and GO

Monday, 15 May 2006

I woke up this morning, glad to be released from a disturbing surreal dream about sneaking around dark houses in stealthy garb and negotiating through pitch black museum corridors with a dim flashlight. Yet I wasn't really looking forward to the realities of the day(s) ahead either. There's so much to do:

  1. Prepare the worship session for Thursday's Alpha course celebrations
  2. Tackle the mound of work waiting at the office
  3. Finalise the accounts for Bantus, which is way overdue...and do it in time for tax submissions, which is at the end of June
  4. Write some letters to the IRB--in Malay 😥
  5. Visit EPF to clarify some matters
  6. Visit SOCSO to clarify some matters
  7. Do Han's income tax form
  8. Figure out how to help with Han's diet and exercise plans

I really thank God for my mum in law who has been absolutely wonderful in helping to coordinate the work that needs to be done for the apartment.

And I'm still queried on why I'm not putting on weight. I'm stressed out, people! Mealtimes are fast being reduced to necessary annoyances in my warpath to get things done. During the week I walk to wherever I need to get to, and I walk FAST, because there just isn't enough time to be relaxed. At the same time, I just want to crawl into bed and hide under my warm, comfortable, thick blanket and pretend that my to-do list isn't there.

Then I realise that I've fallen--again-- into the rut of indulgent wallowing in self-pity and allowing myself to remain stuck there. I remember that God never gives anyone more than he can handle.

So there won't be any of that today. I will get off my sorry, whiny arse, and DO.

I TOO will get off my whiny, sorry arse and get some things done. Am feeling tad bit guilty for not helping out at home more. Will try to do my best!

You see God is a fair and just God. HE created us in such a way that we could neither pat our backs nor kick ourselves in the butt easily.

Kotak: There’s a reason why we’re not jointed in such a way that we can kick our own behinds–it’s for other people to have the honours. :p
