The Week That Has Been
Friday, 16 December 2005
Went up to Penang last weekend to celebrate my grandfather's 86th birthday.
Happy birthday Gong Gong. 🙂
Some photos I took at the Bukit Gantang stop en route to Penang, just off the highway:
Rehearsal at Saidah's this week was again a night of magic. To top it off, we were entertained by directors Jo and Saidah. I've a video clip of Saidah singing 'Gajah Berak' but I don't know how to upload it onto the blog. :p She's spared this time, boo.
This week has been a quiet one at the office. Boss was away on a cruise. I went to get my MyKad done yesterday at Maju Junction. Apart from the long wait in the afternoon for my turn, it was very straightforward, painless affair. Very proud that I also managed to transform this:
into this:
It's difficult to be a neat packrat.

How about a different way of arranging your desk? Pointers right here.
is that jo, as in jo kukathas?
Topo: Hehe, what a treasure trove of ads! Thanks! :p
Ruach: Yes that’s Jo Kukathas. She’s a wonderful teacher with boundless energy, a genuine champion for the local fledgling arts scene. Not only is she helping to build up the cast in terms of stage work, but also dealing with the ‘other’ issues like funding, politicking with various external parties etc which threatens to take a lot of wind out of the creative team’s sails. She’s also a great person to have a meaningful conversation with, on just about anything.
Goodness Mich! What is happening to you? A clean desk? You are being corrupted by the corporate world! I thought you once said a messy desk is the sign of a healthy mind? tsk tsk
sweet. i don’t follow the msian arts scene that closely, but i’ve loved everything i’ve seen her in. she’s brilliant! you’re lucky to be able to interact with and learn from her…i’m jealous. 🙂
*looks around messy desk* uhm… help? o_O
Penang rocks!!! Btw, I still revel in my ability to keep a tidy ‘designers’ desk.
Kotak: See the video in the link. Not only you’ll be clean, but you’ll be one lean mean creative machine!
Ligeirinho: I declare bias! Although Penang food do rock.
road trip road trip!!!!
