Ant Sculpture

Saturday, 24 September 2005

Displayed at Yayasan Seni which is located on Persiaran Ritchie, just off Jalan Ampang. I don't know who the artist is as there isn't a plaque next to the installation. As far as I can tell, the ants were made from nuts and bolts, bits of wood, pointy-ended light bulbs, car parts and wire. They're pretty realistic!

Will take more photos of the premises when I get the chance. Yayasan Seni proved to be full of surprises. It's not some old bungalow tucked away in the corner of town, but a well-appointed crafts centre that seems to concentrate primarily on hand-drawn batik pieces. They even have a sort of amphitheatre/courtyard round the back where there is enough room to have a performance for an intimate audience.
