I woke up this morning to find my poor husband nearly incapacitated due to his bad back. I kept my decision to attend the 1st service at church, but a phone call to Quek had me packing my capoeira gear to scoot…  

12 days to go before Chinese New Year. It’s the year of the rooster, according to the chinese zodiac calendar. That makes me 24 in April—it’s ‘my’ year, so to speak. A special year. It’s the first year ever that I’ve decided against…  

Shell has contacted my brother to invite him for an interview. I was well-impressed with how he tackled the questions in his application form—they were tough, and he was creative with his responses. I’m so excited for him! I hear that Shell is one of the better employers in town, and it’ll be a great learning experience for him.  

What started off as a quiet day at work turned out to be yet another whirlwind, filled with last-minute requests that interfered with my planned schedule. It’s one thing to be flexible with your plans, but I think this is a bit…  

I just happened to look up from my work to notice that the rest of my team isn’t around—everyone’s out for company briefings etc. The temptation to skive and slack is inviting… …but I don’t know what to skive to while I’m in…  

As I write this, I am seated on the LRT on the way home from work, in between two slightly odiferous people—it’s the sort of smell that’s a blend of dust and grit and sweat, possibly indicating that the person has been…  

Phew, it’s been a long afternoon. Han, his parents and myself waded through Jalan Ampang lunch hour traffic to get to the Westin, where we eagerly made our way to Prego for a late meal. Along the way, they filled me in on that morning’s trip to Cyberview Lodge.  

This morning Han went with his parents to check out Cyberview Lodge which is one of the possible venues for the wedding banquet. From what I recall from the few visits I made there myself in the past, it’s a pretty place.
